“Being Present ”
The passing on April 26, 2007 of one of our Beloved Instructors, Susan Jane Coller-Marshall has brought into clear focus once again, the value of "Being Present". The real moments I shared with Susan created a deep and real connection. I am grateful for the gift of Susan in my life and her presence within The AOED Family. Susan embodied elegance & class, grace & inner beauty, strength, wisdom and courage.
Some of the most beautiful and rich moments in life can come from Being Present. A look exchanged only happens when both people are present to that moment. You can meet someone only a few times and the authenticity of that connection comes from making yourself available to the exchange. Others you may know for years and the exchange is much more "on the surface", exchanging past upsets and future goals and missing the moment.
Being present means being here, now. It is not reflecting on the past or planning for the future. It is about being aware. It is about being conscious. The key for yourself is finding how you become the most conscious and aware.
With some honest observation of ourself we may discover that our upsets, daily distractions and ambitions take up time and space in our present moments. These moments are our life. With some more awareness, we may realize that we may be foregoing the richness and the beautiful moments. We may decide we want to find a way to become more present, more often and experience more beauty in our life. Through heightened awareness you may see the beauty of life unfold effortlessly.
